Along with that, it is very important to dress up safely and sensibly as you will be going to burst out the crackers in the evening.
Here, we are suggesting you a few safety tips which you need to keep in mind while dressing up this Diwali.
Say no to the synthetic fibers –
Festivals are the time to bring out back those heavy lehangas, sarees and Anarkalis. Georgette, chiffon, satin and silk fabrics are the most trending fabrics that everyone loves to wear on festivals, but such fibers are more susceptible to fire. So, it’s always advisable to make the wisest choice when it comes to choosing the clothes you are going to wear when fire is around. Go for jute, cotton or cotton silk fabrics. A proper fitting kurta with a colourful pair of leggings or Churidars are really the good options to add glamour to the elegance.
If possible, avoid dupattas and pallus –
We can understand your love with those embroided dupattas and heavy saree pallus. They can easily be handled during the Diwali Puja or party. And if the fabric is not correctly chosen, then this lovely attire can really be a big problem for you, especially while bursting crackers. If possible, limit designer dresses and opt for kurtis or salwaar kameez.
Avoid loose clothes –
Floor length lehangas or fluffy ghaghras and skirts can catch fire easily. Such dresses are difficult to handle, especially during the party time. It’s better to wear clothes that fit the body, just to avoid catching fire. Give a try to denims, stylish jeggings or printed pants. It is advisable to avoid nylon’s full sleeves or skin fitted clothes.
If not possible, find out an alternative –
If you can’t avoid sarees, lehangas or Anarkali suits then try to wear it slightly short as compared to how you wear on the regular days. You can also wear a pair of heels to avoid touching of floor in case of full length costumes. For dupattas andpallus try to tuck it properly around your waist.
Wear accessories safely –
Festive occasions are incomplete without the clinking of bangles and tingles of anklets. But it’s important to remove while lighting up fireworks, whether they are of glass or metal. As they can easily be heated up and get cracked, it could lead to discomfort and pain.
